“This Thanksgiving was one of our family’s all time favorites. The pictures of the cabin don’t do it justice. The view is stunning, the cabin was really clean and Lisa and Jim have stocked the house with everything someone could want and more. Our family was very comfortable. We enjoyed a day trip to Charlottesville and look forward to a return visit to explore the area further. Truly an awesome experience.”
“We had a great weekend at Black Bear Lodge. The cabin is well furnished with everything we needed and more. There were no disappointing surprises as the listing description was accurate. The view and the cabin itself are the highlights. The cabin is very clean, well maintained with nice appointments. Lisa and Jim provided excellent hospitality and customer service. We would most certainly recommend Black Bear Lodge to friends and family. We will vacation here again.”

“We would highly recommend staying in this beautiful log home. It is so warm and inviting with its cozy rooms and beautiful views. It has everything you need whether you are a couple or a large family. Romantic fireplace and hot tub, rustic furniture and beautiful modern kitchen. Beautiful views of the mountains and a short drive to Skyline Drive. It is a beautiful place for all seasons and we will definitely go back. Owners provided complete and helpful directions for everything in house and helpful hints for things to do in the area. We were very impressed, this was very helpful.”
“WOW!!!! My husband and I have traveled all around the nation but had not been to the Shenandoah Valley before. It is absolutely breathtaking. This Lodge offered the most amazing views, a completely stocked kitchen, and all the amenities we could have needed. It was impeccably clean!! The kids loved all the games, running around the yard, playing in the hot tub and as a family we enjoyed such great memories around the firepit each night. We highly recommend this property to EVERYONE and will most definitely return!!”

“We had a very nice stay for a long weekend at this very nicely built house. The view in the morning from the deck is spectacular! What stood out to us is the owners’ attention to details. They were very responsive to emails and they sent us a detailed email with some pre-arrival and post-arrival tips as well as suggested things to do in the area. When you are there, make sure to visit Luray Caverns if you have done this before. Also, consider some horseback riding and some hiking in Shenandoah National Park.”

“This house could not have been more perfect for our girls’ weekend! The house is very cozy and makes you feel like you could stay there forever. The beautiful all-wood interior gives off the traditional log cabin vibe. With a very spacious kitchen and plenty of lunge space, we could all kick back, relax, and enjoy each others company while taking in the views that this property has to offer. I would recommend this cabin to friends, family & anyone else who is looking to surround themselves with the natural beauty of the mountains and just take some time to unwind. The only sad part of our trip was the weekend ending and the cars pulling out of the driveway.”

“We had a wonderful stay at this wonderful lodge! We enjoyed the mountain view, sunrises, and all the added details to make us feel at home and welcome. The lodge as fully stocked iwth all kinds of extras and details – very impressive! We loved the fireplace and the large hot tub with all the extra beach towels. We had some precious family time with all the games and crossword books. We enjoyed the snowy hillside behind the house and even did some fun sledding! Bedrooms were all cozy and we all slept well. Customer service was excellent and response time was quick by email. Lodge was even better than what was shown in the pictures and exceeded our expectations. Property was very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting the area or looking for a relaxing family getaway.”
